I was born in Seattle in 1984, and although I spend only a limited amount of time there these days, I’ll always love Seattle. I grew up downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, hiking and scrambling in the Cascade Mountains. I started mountaineering around age 10, with my brother and father. I became addicted quickly and strongly, and since age 14 I knew with confidence that I wanted to spend my life climbing mountains. For the 17 years since I have dedicated myself to this pursuit, and I am now fortunate enough to make a meagre living from my passion of climbing mountains.
